Clare is running for State Senate District 12 because she is passionate about her community. Clare has lived in the district with her husband, Que Collard, for 26 years. She raised her two son’s Zach and Chaz in Magna. She has seen her neighbors struggle to put food on the table and support their families; she has seen children drop out of school, and seen lack of opportunities and lost potential.

Clare is committed to finding lasting and meaningful solutions to these challenges. Clare believes in leading by example, by going to work every day, working hard, paying taxes and contributing to society.

Clare has been working in the district for the last 15 years in various volunteer capacities; she is currently the Chair of the Magna Metro Township Planning Commission, overseeing planning and zoning for the Township. Clare has served as Chair of the Salt Lake County Democratic Party and as Chair of the State Wide Women’s Caucus.


She has served on the Salt Lake County Planning Commission and also Chaired Mayor Corroon’s Social Service Block Grant Allocation Fund.  Allocating funds for programs that make a difference in the lives of Salt Lake County residents; programs such as After-School Programs and programs that enable Welfare to Work.

In her day job, Clare has worked in the Credit Union industry for the last 20 plus years in roles of leadership and management. Clare is currently employed by Cyprus Credit Union. Over the years Clare has worked in Human Resources, Business Development, Community Development, Public Relations, Corporate Training and Regulatory Compliance as well as in Regional Branch Management. She has also worked in the Non-Profit sector and has been a small business owner.


She brings a vast knowledge of coaching and mentoring others and empowering people to do things that they never thought they were capable of doing.


As a former candidate for State Senate District 12 in 2014 (taking 43% of the vote in Salt Lake County) and running for State Auditor in 2008, she knows firsthand what it takes to run for office. She will never ask anyone to do something she had not done herself.
